How to write a cleaning quote
A clear quote wins jobs because the client can see exactly what they're paying for. Whether it's a regular clean, a deep clean or an end of tenancy clean, include:
- Your details: business name, address, email and phone.
- A quote number, date and expiry: 14–30 days is common.
- The property: address, bedrooms, bathrooms and whether it's furnished.
- Each service on its own line: the main clean, then extras like ovens, carpets or inside windows.
- What's included and what isn't: this prevents most arguments later.
- Tax, if it applies: VAT in the UK if you're registered, or sales tax where required in the US.
Tips for pricing a cleaning job
- Price by property size and type of clean, not just by the hour — clients prefer a fixed price.
- Visit or ask for photos before quoting a deep clean; heavy grease and limescale take much longer.
- List extras separately so you can say yes to a lower budget without cutting your rate.
